A Grey Topper
I have visited an antiques centre several times in order to get a photograph of this gentleman’s headgear ..
The Village Fish and Chip Shop on Friday Night
It was just a short walk in the light rain to get to the village centre. Suitably waterproofed I had walked down with just my Fuji X100V with me.
Morning Mist in Somerset
I made a plan. I looked at the BBC Weather app and saw what time dawn was in my location - 6:52am. I wanted to take a photograph of a line of trees, not very far away, in the mist which I hoped would be present in the early morning. At the appointed time I managed (just) to get out of bed and after some delay walked across the fields and saw that line of trees. But alas there was very little mist!
However, there is always the unexpected, as they say. I line of racehorses were being exercised along a gallop which was against the light. So this is what I finished photographing.
As for the mist I will keep watching.
Shadows in my garden
I continue to be facinated by the shadows that appear on the wall of the garage. The house and garage is relatively new but the seasons and the time of day quickly make their mark. By late morning the shadows are projected along he wall. The quickly come and quickly go, dependent upon the season and the strength of the sun.
Sherborne Abbey with a flag flying at half mast
It turned out not to be a quick snap. The direction of the prevailing wind saw to that. It dictated my viewpoint and I needed to wait patiently as the breeze unravelled the flag that had wrapped itself around the flagpole. Finally the flag unwrapped and began to fly visibly in the wind and I took this photograph.
Sherborne Abbey on 11th September 2022
Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II many public buildings flew national flags and here my local town has an abbey which I frequently enjoy photographing. I did this yesterday.
Hidden Bath
I do like taking photos in the rain. On this occasion it was pouring! Great fun.
A Dorset Summer Country Fete in July
A Summer Country Fete in JUly Dorset, UK. I was watching the dog show, and, turning around, saw this scene before me! Taking several shots, I selected this one as it depicts English village life so clearly.
