Driving through Sturminster Newton yesterday the flooding of the River Stour was very evident. However, not so much as in January 2014, when this photograph was taken.
On the extreme right is Sturminster Newton Mill. Set in the heart of Thomas Hardy’s Wessex this picturesque mill is maintained in full working order. It was last rebuilt about 1650 and is powered by a 100-year old water turbine.
I used my Fujifilm X-Pro1 camera with the XF14mm F2.8 R lens at 1/250 second at f/58.0 ISO 200. Velvia profile applied. Gitzo tripod used.
